BSP, SP-Congress fighting to save their reputation: PM Modi

Allahabad/Jalaun (Uttar Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today derided the BJP’s political opponents in Uttar Pradesh and claimed they were struggling to salvage their reputation as the wind was blowing in BJP’s favour after the completion of first three phases of election.

Give the BJP an opportunity to serve Uttar Pradesh for 5 years

Addressing a huge rally in Phoolpur, Modi said, “after three phases of polling, these three parties (SP, Congress and BSP) are desperately trying to garner enough seats to save their respective faces.”

Prime Minister said that people had voted heavily in the BJP’s favour during all three phases of the assembly polls, which was a rude awakening for the SP-Congress alliance and BSP.

The Prime Minister also attacked chief minister Akhilesh Yadav over the his “Kaam Bolta Hai” slogan.

“Akhilesh ji, you keep saying that “Kaam Bolta Hai”. But then, why does the Allahabad high court keep blocking your plans and orders? Why does the court rap you every other day? I think this in an indication of not your work, but your antics,” Modi jibed.

He urged voters to cast their ballot in the BJP’s favour as only the BJP conducts politics without engaging in communalism, discrimination and corruption.

“Give the BJP an opportunity to serve Uttar Pradesh for 5 years. I promise you we will succeed in every parameter,” Modi exhorted the people.

Earlier, addressing a rally in Jalaun, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused non-BJP parties of not developing Bundelkhand region in Uttar Pradesh and said all of them are “two sides of the same coin”.

“Among all Indian states Uttar Pradesh is in the worst condition. No development has taken place in Bundelkhand since independence,” Modi told an election rally in Orai area here.

“It is not because the people of the region are not skilled, but it is all due to the kind of the government you people elect,” he thundered.

“You people elected a government, MLAs and ministers who have destroyed the region and this is visible everywhere.

“Whether it is Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party or the Congress, they are two sides of the same coin.”

The Prime Minister promised to develop the area and said: “If we come to power, we will set up a Bundelkhand Development Board.”
