Four days questioning leads to TTV Dhinakaran arrest in EC bribery case

New Delhi: After four days of sustained grilling, the Delhi Police on Tuesday night arrested AIADMK (Amma) leader TTV Dhinakaran, who is accused of trying to bribe an Election Commission official in a bid to retain the ‘two-leaves’ symbol of party.

According to sources in the Delhi Police, Dinakaran’s aide Mallikarjuna has also been arrested by the police.

It may be mentioned here that for the past four days, Dhinakaran was being grilled by the Delhi Police.

The sustained grilling finally led to Dhinakaran confessing to have met Sukesh Chandrsekar who is under police custody till April 28.

The police has managed to extract the details of how Rs ten crore reached Sukesh who was the first person to have been nabbed by the Delhi police from a five star hotel in the national capital.

Sources also said that the Crime Branch officers during the course of quizzing brought Dhinakaran and Sukesh face to face to get get to the bottom of the case.

Delhi police will seek Dinarakan’s custody from a magistrate’s court on Wednesday to further grill the accused.
