Pakistan Army again violates ceasefire in J&K’s Poonch sector

Jammu: Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling and firing by automatic weapons along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning.

There were no casualty on Indian side in the latest ceasefire violation by the Pakistani troops

The unprovoked aggression by the Pakistan troops prompted the Army to retaliate.

Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta said that the Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at the Indian Army posts along the LoC at in Digwar sector of Poonch around 9.30 am.

Indian Army personnel took positions and responded befittingly to the Pakistani firing, the spokesman said, adding that intermittent firing was going on.

He further said that there were no casualty on Indian side in the latest ceasefire violation by the Pakistani troops.
