Terrorists kill five policemen, two bank employees in J&K’s Kulgam

Srinagar: If the Pakistani Army resorted to unprovoked firing in Poonch sector killing to soldiers and thereafter mutilating their bodies, the terrorists active in the Kashmir valley attacked a bank cash van and shot dead five policemen and two bank employees in Kulgam district on Monday.

Senior police and paramilitary officers rushed to the spot and launched search operation

According to a senior police official, the incident took place in Pombai village when an unspecified number of terrorists targeted the cash van of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank.

“After firing at the occupants of the cash van that was returning Neehama village where it had gone to deposit cash, the terrorists escaped with five SLR rifles of the slain policemen,” said the police official.

Immediately after the incident, senior police and paramilitary officers rushed to the spot and launched search operation to nab the terrorists responsible for the act.

Meanwhile, the Hizbul Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the attack. A Hizbul spokesman, calling himself as Burhan-ud-Din, made the claim over telephone to a local news agency.
