Two jawans martyred, bodies mutilated as Pak violates ceasefire in J&K’s Poonch

Jammu: Two security personnel including a junior commissioned officer of the army and a BSF Head Constable were martyred and their bodies mutilated by the Border Action Team (BAT) of the Pakistan Army on Monday.

One soldier was also critically injured in the firing

The unprovoked ceasefire violation was carried out by the Pakistani troops on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Pakistan Army resorted to “unprovoked” firing in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district at around 8.30 am using rockets and automatics at Indian positions.

One soldier was also critically injured in the firing.

Confirming the incident, the Northern Command of the Indian Army in an official release said that the Pak army carried out unprovoked rocket and mortar firing on two forward positions of the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector.

The release further said that simultaneously a BAT action as launched on a patrol operating in between the two posts.

“In an unsoldierly act by the Pak Army, the bodies of two soldiers in the patrol were mutilated,” stated the release adding that such despicable act of Pakistan Army will be appropriately responded.
