Pak violates ceasefire in J&K’s Kupwara, two soldiers martyred

Srinagar: Two soldiers were martyred when the Pakistani Army resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.

Soldiers from the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles were killed in Furkiya area of Chowkibal sector

According to information, Sniper fire from Pakistan killed two Indian soldiers on Wednesday on the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district.

Defence Ministry sources said the soldiers from the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles were killed in Furkiya area of Chowkibal sector.

It may be mentioned here that Furkiya area has been a known route used by terrorists infiltrating into the Kashmir Valley from across the LoC.

The incident occurred hours after security forces cornered and neutralised three Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Also on Wednesday, Pakistan Army had violated the ceasefire in Poonch district, targeting villages and forward posts along the LoC using mortars and firing small arms.
