Pakistan again violates ceasefire in Poonch, Pak Army mess smashed in PoK

Srinagar: India on Sunday taught Pakistan a lesson by smashing its Army Mess in PoK when it resorted to heavy retaliatory firing to fresh ceasefire violation by the enemy forces in Poonch sector.

According to available information, the Pakistani Army once again started unprovoked firing at Indian position at the LoC in the Poonch district. “This was the third ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army in the last 48 hours. During the earlier two occasion, the Pakistan Army suffered casualty in retaliatory fire by the Indian forces when two of its soldiers and five civilians got killed,” said an official.

Besides casualty to Pakistan Army, an Army mess situation in PoK was also smashed by heavy artillery fire by the Indian forces.

Confirming Sunday’s ceasefire violation, Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said: “Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing from 6.40 pm onwards in Poonch sector’s Digwar and Khaari Karmara. Indian Army is retaliating strongly and effectively.”

The firing exchanges were on till reports last came in.

It may also be mentioned here that two people — an army soldier on leave and his wife — were killed and two children of the couple were injured in the Pakistani shelling in the same sector on Saturday.
