Sedition case against Azam Khan booked for derogatory remarks on Army

Lucknow: For his alleged derogatory remarks against the Indian Army, senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has been booked under sedition charges at Chandpur police station in Bijnor on Friday.

According to a senior police official, an FIR has been lodged against Azam Khan as Chandpur police station of Meerut district.

The FIR against Azam Khan has been registered under IPC sections 124 a (sedition), 131 (Abetting mutiny, or attempting to seduce a soldier, sailor or airman from his duty) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief, said the police official.

He said that the aforementioned FIR was registered on the complaint by one Anil Pandey, who is a Bajrang Dal leader.

It may be recalled that Azam Khan had two days back said that excesses by security forces had led to women terrorists at some places chopping off the private parts of security personnel.
