Zakir Musa trapped in Pulwama’s Noorpora village, house-to-house search on

Srinagar: With security forces having cordoned off the village where terrorist Zakir Musa is reportedly hiding, it appears only to be a matter of time before the terrorist is either made to surrender before the security forces or is neutralised.

The area of cordon was expanded to encompass two more villages

According to a senior police official, Zakir Musa, who severed ties with Hizbul Mujahideen and is presently the chief of Jammu and Kashmir’s Al Qaeda affiliate to establish caliphate in Kashmir valley, has been trapped in his native village Noorpora.

Acting on a tip off, the security forces comprising the army, CRPF and the SOG of the state police laid a cordon to nab or neutralise Musa.

Sensing trouble for Musa and his associates trapped with him in Tral area of Pulwama, the over ground workers of the terrorist started spreading message using social media platform, appealing to the locals to come out and thwart the ongoing operation by the security forces.

Reports said that villagers poured out of their homes and pelted stones at security forces, triggering clashes between them and the security forces.

However, with the presence of adequate force and further reinforcements having rushed, the area of cordon was expanded to encompass two more villages to ensure that the trapped terrorists including Musa do not manage to escape.

When reports last came in, the security forces had been carrying out house-to-house searches in Noorpora village in Pulwama district.
