Restrictions in Srinagar following LeT terrorist killing

Srinagar: A day after the killing of top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Abu Ismail and his accomplice, authorities in Srinagar on Friday imposed restrictions in parts of the city as a precautionary measure.

All colleges and higher secondary schools have been closed in the city

Security forces had been on the look out for LeT terrorist Abu Ismail after he mastermind attack on Amarnath Yatris on July 10.

Prohibitory orders under the Code of Criminal Procedure was clamped in Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, MR Gunj and Safa Kadal on Thursday.

A senior police official said that restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPc have been imposed to maintain law and order.

On Thursday, the authorities had snapped Internet services in Srinagar after the killing of LeT terrorist and his Pakistani associate, Chota Qasim in Nowgam area.

All colleges and higher secondary schools have been closed in the city as a precautionary measure.

Train services between Baramulla and Bannihal have also been suspended.

State Director General of Police SP Vaid said since January 147 terrorists have been killed by the security forces in Kashmir so far.
