Two LeT terrorists killed, one caught alive in J&K’s Kulgam encounter

Srinagar: In an fierce encounter with the security forces, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists including a top terror commander were killed  and one caught alive in south Kashmir’s Kulgam.

The administration has suspended internet services in the area

According to a senior police official, the terrorists were killed when they fired at a road clearing party of security forces in Chaddar Motelhama in Qaimoh area, triggering a heavy exchange of fire .

The police official said that the security forces comprising the Army, CRPF and the SOG of the state police were carrying out a highway clearance operation for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra when they were fired at by the hidden terrorists.

He said that the encounter between the security forces and the terrorists has ended as the third terrorists has been caught alive by the security forces.

One of the neutralise LeT terrorist has been identified as Shaqoor Ahmad Dar whose name figured in the list of terrorists released by the security forces two days back.

The administration has suspended internet services in the area.

Meanwhile, a soldier was found dead on Sunday under mysterious circumstances near his home in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, police said.

Sepoy Neeraj Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry had come home on leave and was to report back at his unit in Ferozepur in Punjab on June 30.

“His body was today found under mysterious circumstances near his home in Sunderbani area of Rajouri,” a police officer said.

“An FIR has been registered and investigations are on to ascertain the cause of his death,” said the police official.
