Terrorists attack CRPF patrol in J&K’s Pulwama, four troopers injured

Srinagar: In a grenade attack by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, four CRPF troopers were injured.

The injured troopers were shifted to hospital for treatment where condition of two is stated to be serious

According to a police official, terrorists hurled a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) patrol in Jawbrara village on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Pulwama, injuring four CRPF personnel.

He said that the injured troopers were shifted to hospital for treatment where condition of two is stated to be serious.

The police official said that immediately after the grenade attack, the security forces swung into action and cordoned off the entire area.

Till reports last came in, a massive search operation was on to nab or neutralise the terrorists responsible fo the grenade attack.

Meanwhile, terrorists on Saturday evening released the special police officer (SPO) they had abducted on Friday evening, police said.

SPO Mudasir Ahmad Lone, who was abducted by terrorists from Chantakar village in Tral area of Pulwama district, was released alive and has reached his home, police sources said.

The mother of the abducted SPO had made a passionate appeal to the terrorists through a video that went viral to spare her son’s life who was her only male child.

The SPO was working as a cook in Awantipora Police Lines and had no role in anti-terrorism operations.
