Five people including CISF jawan killed in Dantewada Maoist attack

Raipur: With 12 days, Maoists attacked again on Thursday in Dantewada killing four people including a CISF jawan by triggering an improvised explosive device (IED) on a bus.

Both the injured CISF personnel have been admitted to a hospital

The incident took place just four days ahead of November 12 phase one election in Chhattisgarh in a hilly area in Bacheli in Dantewada.

A senior police official said that four civilians and a personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) were killed in the attack. Two CISF personnel were also injured in the explosion.

Both the injured CISF personnel have been admitted to a hospital.

The police official said that the Maoists targeted a bus that had been deployed for election duty in the district.

The troops were going back to their camp in Akashnagar after buying groceries from the market when the IED blast was triggered by the Maoists.

Among the those killed were the driver of the bus, conductor, cleaner and another person whose identity is still be eastiblished, said the police official.

Immediately fater the IED blast, reinforcements were rushed to the attack site and security forces launched a combing operation in track and nab or neutralise the Maoists responsible for the incident.
