Terrorist attack CRPF camp in Pulwama, one trooper martyred

Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was killed on Sunday when terrorists opened fire at a CRPF camp in Pulwama district.

Though the troopers on duty retaliated but the terrorists managed to escape

A senior Police official said that terrorists fired at the CRPF camp near the railway station in Kakapora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir. “Though the troopers on duty retaliated but the terrorists managed to escape,” said the police official adding that one injured CRPF personnel succumbed to his injuries while being taken to a hospital.

Meanwhile, the youth abducted by the terrorists earlier on Sunday from Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district has been released.

Suhail Ahmad Ganai was abducted on Sunday morning by the terrorists in Meemender village.

“With security forces having launched an intensive search operation to locate and get the abducted youth freed from the cluctches of abductors, terrorists released Ganai Sunday evening, feeling the heat.

On Saturday, the terrorists had abducted five persons in Shopian district.

One youth, identified as Huzaif Ahmad, was killed while two others, Shahid and Farooq Ahmad, were released.

The remaining two civilians, abducted on Saturday, are still missing.
