Top JeM terrorist Sajad Dar killed J&K’s Sopore encounter

Srinagar: A top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist commander was killed in an encounter with security forces in the Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

He further said that the neutralised terrorist has been identified as Sajad Nawab Dar

Confirimg the report, a senior police official said that top JeM commander has been neutralised in an encounter in Sopore.

He further said that the neutralised terrorist has been identified as Sajad Nawab Dar.

The police official said that on receiving tip off regarding some terrorists hiding in the are, the security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Arampora area of Sopore in the north Kashmir district late Tuesday night.

On Wednesday morning the hiding terrorists resopted to heavy firing to break the security cordon and escape. However, in the ensuing exchange of fire, Dar was neutralised, said the official.

He said that the terrorists were using a fortified bunker in front of the house they were hiding and it was blasted by the security forces.

Thereafter the firing exchanges stopped, but the security forces were taking utmost caution to trace the the dead bodies of the terrorists in the operation.
