Kabul: At least 10 Islamic State (IS) terrorists and a security personnel have been killed in a fierce gunfight in Afghanistan’s Jawzjan province, said the police here on Sunday.
Apart from neutralising ten IS terrorists, nine other IS terrorists were injured in the gunfight with the security forces, said the police adding that two security personnel also sustained injuries in the clashes.
The gunfight erupted after the IS terrorists attacked security checkpoints outside the Darzab district headquarters on Friday.
However, the retaliatory fire by the security forces that lasted for a few hours, ten terrorists were killed, added the official.
