Jammu: Two soldiers were martyred in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir when the Pakistani army resorted to fresh round of unprovoked firing on the Line of Control (LoC) late on Monday night.
According to defence sources, the Pakistan Army resorted to heavy shelling and firing at Indian positions late Monday in Akhnoor sector’s Khour area.
Sources said that two soldiers were martyred and another injured in the fresh aggression from across the LoC.
“Our positions retaliated effectively and strongly and firing exchanges continued for over an hour,” said sources adding that the extent of damage and loss of life on the Pakistani side is not known.
