Srinagar: A soldier on leave had gone missing earlier this month in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district has joined terrorist ranks, police said on Monday.
Though the Army is yet to confirmthe development, police said Idrees Mir, of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, on Sunday joined the terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen along with two other locals who had also gone missing from their homes.
Mir was posted in Bihar and was on leave.
It may be mentioned here that police confirmation came after Mir’s picture wielding an AK-47 rifle went viral on social media.
