Jammu: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was martyred on Tuesday in ceasefire violation by Pakistani rangers on the international border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district.

The Indian positions retaliated effectively and strongly

According to a BSF official, Pakistan rangers started unprovoked ceasefire violation at 1.30 am by targeting BSF positions on the Inter Border in the early hours of Tuesday.

“In this Pak aggression, one BSF constable, Devinder Singh was injured and he later succumbed to his injuries,” said the BSF official.

However, the Indian positions retaliated effectively and strongly and the firing exchanges between the two sides continued for nearly three hours.

The BSF official said that Tuesday’s ceasefire violation disrupted the peace that the residents of border villages had been experiencing off-late.
