Srinagar: Amid reports of large-scale infiltration of terrorists from the Line of Control (LOC) in Kashmir, the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have been put on a high alert.

According to sources in the security establishment, there were inputs from the intelligence agencies that trained terrorists numbering between 20 to 25 had recently succeeded in sneaking into the Indian territory from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK )to carry out targeted attacks in the Kashmir valley.
Sources said that the terrorists who managed to infiltrate are believed to be affiliated to Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit headed by notorious Maulana Masood Azhar.
As per the security grid, it is being apprehended that there would be a spike in terrorist attacks in the state of J&K, especially the Kashmir Valley.
Sensing escalation in terrorists activities, the security forces have been asked to be on a high alert and maintain vigil around sensitive security installations across the state.
Terming the large number of terrorists infiltration as a cause of concern, the current push is viewed by the security apparatus as an act of desperation of their handlers across the LoC to keep the Kashmir pot boiling to pursue their nefarious design.
