Srinagar: Alert Indian Army on Thursday foiled yet another infiltration bid by terrorists from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to a defence spokesman, the Rashtriya Rifles patrol noticed suspicious movement along the LoC and on being challenged, the infiltrating terrorists resorted to firing and in the subsequent exchange of fire, two soldiers were injured.
“The injuries suffered by the soldier was non-fatal and they were immediately shifted to the army hospital where the condition of both the soldiers is stated be stable,” said the spokesman adding that the operation against the infiltrating terrorists was on in the area.
The spokesman said that the number of terrorists engaged in the ongoing encounter was around five or six.
