Srinagar: Security forces have killed four terrorists on Wednesday in an ongoing encounter in the forests of Rafiabad in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to a police official, a para commando of the Indian Army was injured in the gunfight and he has been evacuated to an army hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
Earlier on his twitter page, state DGP SP Vaid said, “encounter going on in Dooniwari forest area of Police Station Dangiwacha Sopore, report of presence of 5 terrorists. Wish success to our boys.”
The police official said that on receiving specific information about the presence of some terrorists in the area, the army started a cordon and search operation. “The hiding terrorists fired at the forces, triggering the encounter,” said the police official.
Till reports last came in, the encounter was on in the area.
Sources said that the terrorists had probably infiltrated into the hinterland from across the Line of Control (LoC) and were hiding in the forest when the encounter started.
