Srinagar: A policeman was martyred on Sunday during a terrorist attack on a police station in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.
According to a police official, the police station came under attack early Sunday morning after the terrorists hurled a grenade and then resorted to indiscriminate firing at the police station’s guard post before escaping.
He said that a constable deployed at the guard post was seriously injured.
The injured police constable was immediately shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, said the police official.
Security forces have launched a manhunt to nab or neutralise the terrorists responsible for the act.
