Two Hizbul terrorists killed in J&K’s Shopian encounter

Srinagar: The security forces on Tuesday succeeded in killing two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.

He said that the encounter has ened but search operation was still underway

According to a police official, the security forces received information about the presence of some terrorists in Safanagri village and immediately after that a cordon and search operation was launched.

“As the security cordon tightened, the hiding terrorists fired at the forces triggering an encounter in which two terrorists were neutralised,” said the police official.

The police official said that the identity of the neuatralised terrorists has been established and their names were Muhammad Idrees and Amir Hussain. They both were associated with Pakistan based terror outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen, said the police official.

Large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the encounter site.

He said that the encounter has ended but search operation was still underway.
