Srinagar: Security forces on Friday killed a terrorists following an encounter in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A senior police official said that terrorists opened fire at a patrol party of the Rashtriya Rifles in Rinzipora village of Awantipora area on Friday morning.
Immediately after that the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area and as the security cordon tightened, the hiding terrorists fired to break the security cordon.
However, in the retaliatory firing by the security forces, one terrorists was killed, said the police official.
He further said that the search operation in the area was on.
The slain terrorists has been identified as Ishfaq Yosouf Wani, resident of Qoil area of Pulwama.
