Srinagar: Barely minutes after hurling a grenade was hurled at a paramilitary patrol party in the city centre Lal Chowk here on Friday, terrorists hurled another grenade at a police camp in Shopian district.

According to a police official, the first grenade attack was aimed at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle near the Clock Tower in the city centre that missed its target damaging some shops in the vicinity as their window panes shattered.
However, the grenade in Shopian exploded without causing any damage, said the police official.
Prior to these attacks, there had been two attacks by terrorists in the city in the last 24 hours.
On Thursday, three policemen were injured in a similar grenade attack by the terrorists in Rajbagh area here.
Meanwhile, the security forces have launched a search operation on in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district following a tip off about presence of some terrorists in an area.
A senior police official said that the till reports last came in, the search operation by the security forces was on Gulshanpora village in Tral area of Pulwama.
