Srinagar: Hours after two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Shopian, another encounter has started in Sopore town of Baramulla district on Tuesday evening.
According to reports, the security forces on receiving information about presence of some Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, swung into action and surrounded Wadoora Payeen village in Sopore.
A police official said that on being challenged, the hiding terrorists fired at security forces, triggering an encounter which as per reports last received was on.
He said that the authorities have suspended mobile intervention services in Sopore as a precautionary measure.
Earlier in the day, two local terrorists belonging to the Ansar Ghazwatul Hind (AGH) outfit were killed in a an encounter with the security forces in J&K’s Shopian district.
