Top Jaish terrorist, associate killed in J&K’s Anantnag

Srinagar: A top Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terrorist, involved in the attack on June 12 attack that left 5 CRPF troopers dead, was killed on Tuesday in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag.

Fayaz Panzoo was killed along with his associate in a fierce encounter with security forces in Wabzun village

According to a senior police official, a top commander of JeM, Fayaz Panzoo was killed along with his associate in a fierce encounter with security forces in Wabzun village of Bijbehara area.

The police official said that Panzoo was involved in the attack on the CRPF at Anantnag town on June 12 in which 5 CRPF personnel were killed and station house officer, Arshad Khan was seriously injured and later succumbed to injuries.

Terming it to be a major success in the ongoing anti-militancy operations in the Kashmir valley, the police official said that days were not far when the state would be freed of terrorist activities as poor locals were the actual sufferers and they off-late had been providing the security forces with crucial tip off about movement of terrorists.
