New Delhi: The BJP on Monday came down heavily on senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bajrang Dal of helping Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
Talking to mediapersons, BJP national spokesman Sambit Patra said, “how does Digvijaya Singh know the exact number of Hindus and Muslims among those who are spying on behalf of Pakistan?”
The BJP spokesman even alleged that the comments by the senior Congress leader is like ‘oxygen to Pakistan’.
It may be mentioned here that Singh while speaking at an eventlast week had said, “more non-Muslims are spying for Pakistan’s ISI than Muslims. This should be understood”.
Hitting out at the Congress, the BJP spokesperson said: “How come comments of senior Congress leader become headline in Pakistani news channels. Even, Imran Khan is quoting them.”
Patra also slammed former Congress President Rahul Gandhi for equating Muslim Brotherhood with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He also reminded the Congress how the term ‘Hindu Terror’ was also coined during the UPA era.
Singh had accused both BJP and Bajrang Dal of spying for the ISI and taking money from the Pakistan-based spy agency, on Friday.
Reminding Digvijaya Singh of his earlier statement, the BJP said, “As far as Digvijaya Singh is concerned, Zakir Naik is a messenger of peace and the rest are spies”.
