New Delhi: Maharashtra state government has decided to contribute to J&K’s development and is willing to open two resorts — one each in the Union Territories of Leh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Resort in Pahalgam would target tourists and also pilgrims who undertake the Amarnath Yatra annually

Sources in the state government said that there were plans to buy land in Pahalgam and Leh for building resorts in each of these two places. The state’s tourism ministry will complete the land survey for the same in the next two weeks.

It is reported that the resort in Pahalgam would target tourists and also pilgrims who undertake the Amarnath Yatra annually.

It is worth mentioning here that prior to abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A only permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir were eligible to buy land or property in the erstwhile state of J&K.

With removal of Article 35A and Article 370, the newly created Union territories have opened opportunities for better investments which in turn would create numerous job opportunities for the locals.
