Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh on Wednesday said the region was very close to restoring normalcy, with restrictions almost lifted from most of the districts.

“We are very close to normalcy. If you take the entire region into account, All 10 districts of Jammu have become entirely normal, all school, colleges, and offices are open. Leh and Kargil are also normal, there is no restriction of any kind there,” he said while talking to mediapersons here.
The state DGP said that there are hardly any reports of fresh recruitment in the terrorist ranks in the Valley.”Hardly any report of fresh people joining terrorist groups. One or two of them were brought back also,” he said.
He said that ovre 90 per cent areas are free of restrictions wit 100 percent telephone exchanges operational. “Barring two districts, cellphones are also working now,” added the DGP.
The DGP said that terrorists have been going around in South Kashmir and threatening people by putting up posters.
He expressed hope that soon they will be able to neutralise the threats in South Kashmir region as well.
The DGP said that the situation in Leh and Kargil districts were also normal.
“I have visited Leh and Kargil. Total normal life is being seen there. There is absolutely no restriction there. In those regions also we have been gradually trying to ease out the restrictions whichever were imposed.”
