Jammu: Visibly shaken by the series of encounters in which large number of terrorists including top commanders had been neutralised during the last couple of days, the frustrated Pakistan army on Wednesday once again resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC) using intense shelling and firing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

The Indian Army is retaliating befittingly

Defence Spokesman Colonel Devender Anand said Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the Nowshera sector around 7.30 am.

“The Indian Army is retaliating befittingly,” the spokesman said.

It may be mentioned here that for over a fortnight, Pakistan has been violating ceasefire on a daily basis by targeting defence and civilian facilities along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources said that the sole intention for the series of ceasefire violations was to provide cover fire to terrorists waiting at their launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir destroy peace in the Kashmir Valley.
