Srinagar: Suspected terrorists on Sunday evening shot and killed a lawyer in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.
According to a senior police official, the suspected terrorists barged into the house of former public prosecutor, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, in south Kashmir’s Pinjoora village in Shopian district and shot him dead.
He said that Khan was fired at multiple times from a close range at his house.
“He was shifted to hospital, but succumbed to injuries,” said the police official.
Ahmad worked as a public prosecutor during the National Conference government in the state.
