New Delhi: After three days of hectic search, the wreckage of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Sukhoi fighter jet that went missing on May 23 has been traced.
According to defence sources, though the wreckage of the fighter aircraft has been found, there is still no word on the two pilots of the ill-fated aircraft.
It may be recalled that the Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet, had gone missing near the China border around 60 km north-west of the Tezpur airbase in Assam, was found close to its last known position, said sources.
The aircraft took off in a two-aircraft formation sortie from the Tezpur airbase at about 10.30 am on May 23.
Further details about the tracing of the missing fighter aircraft is awaited.
