Infiltration bid foiled yet again in J&K’s Gurez sector, one terrorist killed

Srinagar: Yet again on Saturday, the security forces foiled a fresh infiltration attempt and in the process killed a terrorists on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

The army killed five terrorists in Uri sector of the LoC in Baramulla district.

According to defence sources, the Army on noticing suspicious movement at the LoC in Gurez sector of Bandipora district, challenged the infiltrators who resorted to heavy firing at the soldiers to escape.

However, the soldiers retaliated to terrorists fire and in the exchange of heavy firing, one of the infiltrating terrorists was killed, said sources.

There were three to four terrorists who made a futile bid to enter the Indian territory. “At least the remaining three terrorists were still engaged in the encounter with the army,” said an official.

It may be mentioned here that on Friday, the army killed five terrorists in Uri sector of the LoC in Baramulla district, foiling a major infiltration attempt.

Meanwhile, a civilian was injured on Saturday in a terrorist attack on security forces on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

A civilian moving in his car was injured when terrorists fired at two vehicles of security forces plying on the national highway in Vesu area of Anantnag district, said a police official.

He said that the injured civilian was immediately shifted to hospital and his condition is stated to be stable.
