Srinagar: Three intruding terrorist were killed by the Army on the Line of Control (LoC) in Bandipora district.
Giving this information here, Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that three terrorists have been killed by the Army on the LoC in Gurez sector while they were trying to infiltrate.
A senior police official said that the troops deployed at the LoC in Gurez sector noticed suspicious movement along the LoC and immediately challenged the intruders.
“When challenged, the heavily armed intruding terrorists fired at the troops and in ensuing gun battle, three terrorists were shot down,” said the official adding that some more terrorists were still present in the area.
He said that the operation against intruding terrorists continued when reports last came in.
It may be mentioned here that on Sunday, one terrorist was killed while attempting to infiltrate into the Indian side in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
