BSF trooper martyred in unprovoked Pakistan firing in J&K’s Samba sector

Jammu: In a fresh ceasefire violation by the Pakistani Rangers on Thursday, a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper was killed in Samba sector of the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a senior police official, the Pakistan Rangers opened fire on a BSF patrol party, critically injuring a trooper who later succumbd to his injuries in the hospital.

He said that the BSF is strongly reacting to the unprovoked firing by the Pakistani Rangers in the sector.

Meanwhile, two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were injured on Thursday in a terrorist attack in Anantnag district of the Kashmir valley.

A senior police official said that a convoy of CRPF’s 96 battalion comprising of six buses was on its way back to Mattan town when it was fired upon by terrorists.

He said that the attck was repulsed, but two CRPF troopers sustained minor injuries.

Immediately after the incident, the security forces cordoned off the entire area and launched an intensive search operation to either nab or neutralise the terrorists responsible for the attack, added the police official.
