Lucknow: Icy winds brought down the mercury in the Uttar Pradesh state capital and nearby areas on Monday, according to the weather office.
The weather office forecast a sunny day but cautioned that the icy winds will continue.
According to the Regional Met Director JP Gupta, the temperature is likely to drop further.
The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 29 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 19 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature recorded in Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Varanasi and Allahabad in the last 24 hours was 20, 22, 19.2 and 20 degrees Celsius respectively.
