Srinagar: In an encounter with security forces in forest area of Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, a terrorist was gunned down.
According to a senior police official, the neutralised terrorist has been identified as Adil Chopaan.
The police official said that based on information about the presence of terrorists in Gulshanpora, the security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Gujarbasti forest area of Tral.
“As the security forces closed in, the hiding terrorists fired at them, prompting the security forces to retaliate and in the exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed,” said the police official.
Till reports last came in, the operation was going on.
