Nine Afghan soldiers killed in Taliban attack

Kabul: Nine soldiers were killed when Taliban terrorists attacked an Army checkpoint in Afghanistan’s Nimroz province on Monday.

One trooper was also wounded and the checkpoint was destroyed

“Armed terrorists attacked the checkpoint in Khash Rod district along a main road, killing nine soldiers,” a government spokesman said.

Several terrorists were also killed and wounded during the gun battle, but their number could not be verified, he said.
