Pakistani Army again violates ceasefire, heavy firing on in J&K’s Poonch

Jammu: A day after four Indian soldiers including a major were martyred in unprovoked firing at the Line of Control (LoC) in Kera area of Rajouri sector, the Pakistani Army again violated the ceasefire by resorting to heavy firing on Sunday, targeting Indian positions along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Firing and shelling exchanges started at 1.30 pm, and were continuing

The Indian army retaliated and heavy exchange of fire was reported between the Indian and Pakistan troops on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, said a defence official.

He said that the Pakistan Army used mortars, automatics and small arms to target Indian positions on the LoC in the Shahpur area.

“Firing and shelling exchanges started at 1.30 pm, and were continuing,” added the official.
