Jammu: Alert sentry on duty averted a possible terror attack on an Army camp in wee hours of Sunday when a suspicious movement was challenged and after a brief exchange of fire the suspected terrorists fled from the site.
According to an official, an exchange of gunfire took place between suspected terrorists and the Sentry at an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Sunday.
The official said that on noticing a suspicious movement around 2 am, the Sentry on duty at Ratnuchak Military Station in Bari Brahmana area challenged but the suspects did not stop.
Thereafter, the sentry opened fire and the suspects fired back and fled from the sight.
Till reports last came in, a search operation was underway.
