New Delhi: Delhi police on Wednesday morning arrested a terrorist linked to al-Qaeda who allegedly was trying to escape to Nepal.

The arrested terrorist has been handed over to the West Bengal police

A senior police official said that the arrested terrorist has been identified as one Raza Ul Ahmed.

He is believed to have been involved in a fake currency racket and is a member of Ansar Bangla – Bangladesh based terror outfit – which has an affiliation with al-Qaeda.

The arrested terrorist has been handed over to the West Bengal police, which had filed a case against him, said the official.

It may be mentioned here that Ansar Bangla is said to be involved in the hacking of atheists in Bangladesh. The group owes allegiance to Al Qaeda. Many members of the terror outfit have reportedly sneaked into India using forged documents, said the police official.

Prior to this arrest, the ATS of UP police had last week arrested one Ansar Bangla terrorist from Deoband in Saharanpur district.
