Jammu: Four civilians were injured on Sunday in unprovoked firing and shelling by Pakistan troops on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
According to defence ministry spokesman, the Pakistan army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing from small arms, automatic weapons and mortars from 6 pm on forward Army posts along the LoC in Shahpur Kerni area of Poonch district.
“Our troops have effectively and strongly retaliated,” he said.
He said that four civilians including a woman were injured in Pakistan shelling in the area.
“The injured have been shifted to hospital,” added the spokesman.
This is the second incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan in 24 hours.
