Bhopal: At least nine persons were injured in an explosion in a passenger train in Shajapur district in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, authorities said.

The explosion took place at around 9.50 AM in the last compartment, adjacent to the guard coach, railway officials said.
According to Jitendra Kumar Jayant, a senior railway official at Indore, the explosion took place near Jabri railway station. The train was enroute to Ujjain from Bhopal.
The injured were taken to a hospital in Kalapipal, the official said.
A relief train with rescue officials and doctors from Bhopal has been dispatched to the spot. The train was taken to Kalapipal station, where probe was on.
According to Jayant, the cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.
