Four Pakistani terrorists killed in J&K’s Sunderbani sector, search operation on

Jammu: What could be viewed as a major success for the security forces, four Pakistani terrorists were gunned down following a day-long encounter that took place in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

According to a senior police official, the gunfight broke out in Sunderbani area of Rajouri in the morning around 7.30 am when heavily-armed terrorists opened fire on troops of 16 Raj Rifles, 6 Jat Regiment, as well Border Security Force troopers and state police personnel while they were scanning the area where suspicious movements were reported.

The police official said that the neutralised heavily armed terrorist had recently infiltrated into the Indian territory and were waiting to carry out strikes at security camps in the area.

From the slain terrorists, four AK rifles, 22 magazines, large number of hand grenades and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered, said the police official.

The exact identity of the slain Pakistani terrorists is being established, said the police official adding that the search operation was still on in the area.
