Srinagar: In a joint operation on Monday, the Army and police succeeded in busting a Hizbul Mujahideen module in Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara district and arrested two terrorists and two of their over ground workers.

According to a police official, the Rashtriya Rifles along with the local police caught two terrorists identified as Mehrajudin and Obaid Shafi at Chogal while moving in suspicious circumstances.
Both of the arrested terrorists were residents of south Kashmir’s Awantipora in Pulwama district.
Giving details of the information, the police official said that the two terrorists were asked to stop at a check point but they tried to escape. However, the alert security personnel nabbed them after a brief chase and them large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered.
When grilled by the Army, the arrested terrorists spilled the beans and informed that they came to Handwara to get ammunition.
The police official further said that the arrested terrorist revealed that they were active members of Hizbul Mujahideen and their role was to recruit youths for terrorists by radicalizing them over social media and coordinate their training and supply of arms and ammunition, besides carrying out violent activities.
On the basis of information provided by the arrested terrorists, two of their over ground workers were also nabbed. They were identified as Shahid Ahmad Thoker and Irfan Ahmad and were also from Awantipora.
