Lucknow: A 2007 batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer was found dead under mysterious circumstances here in the Uttar Pradesh capital on Wednesday morning.
According to a police official, the deceased, Anurag Tiwari, a native of Bahraich district, was found dead near the state-run Meerabai VIP Guest House.
The body has been sent for post-mortem. The police is now pouring through CCTV footage of nearby areas to piece together moments before Tiwari’s death.
The exact reason for Tiwari’s death will only be ascertained, once the post-mortem report is received, said the police official.
Police refused to share any further details as the investigations was on.
However, the police confirmed that the “death was under suspicious circumstances”.
