Infiltration bid foiled in J&K’s Keran sector, two terrorists killed

Srinagar: Security forces on Thursday evening foiled yet another infiltration bid in Keran sector of Kupwara district in North Kashmir and in the process succeeded in killing two of the infiltrating terrorists.

The alert security forces were keeping a tab on the infiltrating terrorists and once they came in the firing range, they were fired upon, killing two of them on the spot, said an official.

Confirming the incident, Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said, “a major infiltration bid from across the LoC was foiled by the Army troops in Keran sector today (Thursday) evening.”

Prior to this incident, the Pakistani troops again resorted to ceasefire violations in Khari Karmada area of state’s Poonch district. “The unprovoked firing by the Pakistani Army was retaliated to in equal measures,” said a defence official.
