Srinagar: A local terrorists associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit was arrested on Friday by the security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
According to a senior police official, a local terrorists identified as Manzoor Ahmad of the LeT outfit was arrested during the operation. “From the arrested terrorist, a pistol, magazine and two hand grenades were recovered,” said the police official.
He said that on receiving specific information about the presence of some terrorists, the troops of 55 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police launched an operation in Lassipora village of Pulwama district that led to the arrest of the LeT terrorist.
While the operation was on by the security forces, a group of protesters attacked them with stones but the security forces fired in the air to disperse the mob, added the police official.
